An Australian Cryonics Facility
For some years, Philip Rhoades (who also happens to be the Execuive Officer of the Cryonics Association of Australia - CAA) has been planning a Cryonics storage facility outside the NSW Country town of Cowra (about 5 hours drive West of Sydney). The permission for this development is on the basis that it will be a family facility. However due to delays in the development of other commercial, subsidising organisations, no buildings have yet been constructed on the 50 acre site.
Very recently, a number of other people have come forward with a more ambitious plan for a larger facility, probably still in the same place as the original facility. We are now developing a "business" plan to allow a co-operative of at least ten people to participate in making the development of this facility possible. Of course we will need altered regulatory approval for the changed plan but with an increased number of people financially involved, the project is more likely to be successful and to be started sooner.
This facility, if it goes ahead, will not be controlled by the CAA but a number of CAA members will be associated with it.
